Class Options

Healthy Bites, Healthy Moves (Adult)

  • 8 lesson series – led by an EFNEP educator for 60-90 minutes each lesson
  • Participants will learn about healthy eating (MyPlate), family meal planning, budgeting at the store, food safety, and the importance of physical activity
  • Special Addition is a supplemental lesson that can be added to the series
    • Participants will learn about healthy eating and weight gain during pregnancy, the importance of physical activity, food safety for mom and baby, and infant nutrition and feeding
  • Materials and lessons available in both English and Spanish
  • Enhancement items provided throughout the series including measuring cups, exercise bands, cutting boards, and MORE…
  • Each lesson could include a recipe demonstration and/or tasting
  • Both in-person and virtual options available
  • Graduation certificates are given upon completion of the series
  • Receive a cookbook for attending all lessons


Cooking with EFNEP (Adult & Older Youth)

  • 4 lesson series – led by an EFNEP educator for 2 hours each lesson
  • Participants will learn about healthy eating (MyPlate), family meal planning, budgeting at the store, food safety, and the importance of physical activity
  • Materials and lessons available in both English and Spanish
  • Participants work in small groups to cook and sample recipes
  • Enhancement items provided throughout the series including measuring cups, exercise bands, and cutting boards
  • Graduation certificates are given upon completion of the series


Families Eating Smart, Moving More – Online Series

  • Multi-lesson series – each lesson is 45-60 minutes in length
  • Self-led online learning through an interactive series
  • Participants learn about healthy eating (MyPlate), family meal planning, budgeting at the store, food safety and the importance of physical activity
  • Educators can conduct discussion interaction via a closed Facebook group that participants can choose to be a member
  • Graduation certificates are emailed upon completion of the sessions


Healthy Hero Adventures (Youth)

  • Interactive 6 lesson series – led by an EFNEP educator for 30-60 minutes each
  • Program is geared towards K-5th grade and aligned with PE, Health, & Science TEKS
  • Students learn basic nutrition including: MyPlate, making healthy food choices, food safety, and the importance of physical activity
  • Food demonstrations and enhancement items provided
  • Graduation certificates are given upon completion of the series


Teen Cuisine (Youth)

  • Learner-centered 6 lesson series – led by an EFNEP educator for 45-60 minutes each lesson
  • Program is geared towards 6th-12th grade and aligned with PE, Health, & Science TEKS
  • Students learn about basic nutrition, MyPlate, making healthy food choices, food safety, basic culinary skills, and the importance of physical activity
  • Food demonstrations and enhancement items provided
  • Graduation certificates are given upon completion of the series


Healthy Teens, Healthy Future – Online Self-Paced Course (Youth)

  • 6 lesson series lasting about 30 minutes each
  • Program is geared towards 6th-12th grade
  • Self-led online learning through an interactive series
  • Students learn about basic nutrition, MyPlate, making healthy food choices, food safety, basic culinary skills, and the importance of physical activity
  • Each session will include a short lesson and a recorded recipe demonstration
  • Graduation certificates are given upon completion of the series
